Group for the East End and Custer Institute and Observatory celebrate the North Fork's dark skies on the beach at Sound View Greenport.

Happy International Dark Sky Week! Celebrate Group for the East End’s 50th anniversary and our beautiful night skies by joining us for a guided evening nature walk!

Come visit Custer Institute and Observatory, Long Island's oldest public observatory (est.1927), to experience the dark skies in your neighborhood and learn about what you can do to protect the night sky.

Group for the East End is excited to host a conversation and Zoom presentation with Susan Harder, a New York representative of the International Dark Sky Association, East End resident, and 20-year dark sky advocate.

Join us on Zoom to learn about light pollution and what you can do to prevent it. You will also have the chance to get to know the North Fork Dark Sky Coalition; learn more about their initiatives to prevent light pollution in Southold Town and how you can get involved!
